George Digas, MD, Ph.D, specializes in the field of total arthroplasty and maintains a private practice in Xanthi, working at the "Agios Loukas" Clinic since August 2000. He has extensive experience in total joint replacement surgeries, as well as hip and knee revisions.

After graduating in 1989 from the Kapodistrian University of Athens, he completed his residency as an orthopaedic surgeon at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the General Hospital of Xanthi in 1997. 

From January 1998 until March 2007, he held the position of a Senior Attending Physician at the University Orthopaedic Clinic at Sahlgrenska Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. He was involved in the department of hip and knee joint rehabilitation.

In 2004 he received his doctorate (Ph.D.) after a successful presentation of his

During his work at the University Orthopaedic Clinic in Göteborg, Sweden, he participated as an instructor to medical students and orthopaedic residents.

From March 2007 to August 2020, he worked as an attending physician first and since 2016, as director at the Orthopaedic Clinic of Xanthi Hospital.

Since August 2020, he has been running a private practice in the city of Xanthi.

From 2007 until today, he has been working periodically at the Department of Hip and Knee Reconstructive Surgery at the University Orthopaedic Clinic (Sahlgrenska) in Göteborg, Sweden.

The first award of the American Hip society (Otto Aufranc Award). This paper has been published in Clinical Orthop. and Related Research in December 2004.

He has participated as a speakerin 72 Greek and international conferences, such as the Hellenic Orthopaedic Society (EEXOT), the Orthopaedic and Traumatological Society of Macedonia and Thrace (OTEMATH), Hellenic Society for the Study of Bone Metabolism, European Hip Society, Mediterranean Hip Meeting, European Federations of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT), Ortodedic Research Society (ORS) and Swedish Orthopaedic Congress (Svensk Ortopedisk Forening).
