Stomach pain and stress: How much does it affect us and how to deal with it?

August 6, 2024

Our daily lives are often demanding and difficult. Our rhythms are intense and the thoughts of the type “Will I catch up?”, “Will I be able to cope today?” are weekdays. Result: To suffer more and more often from stomach cramps.

The stomach crampsare caused by spasms in the digestive tract, caused by stress, lifestyle changes or the consumption of certain foods. Symptoms, of course, vary from person to person.

Research has shown that a large number of stomach pain sufferers find it particularly annoying even when doing some simple daily activities. He also believes that pain has a negative impact on his quality of life, since he is forced to change or cancel social obligations and even with great frequency. The same applies to how he acts in the workplace, since many are those who report that they are forced to be absent from work frequently due to this problem.

Some tips to limit the symptom:

  • Drink plenty of fluids to help the body hydrate and eliminate various toxins.
  • Put exercise into your life. It acts against stress.
  • Try to avoid high-fat foods or stomach-irritating foods such as fried foods and spices. Some foods may also make you intolerant.
  • Shape/Change your habits or lifestyle.
  • Make positive thoughts.

If with these changes in your lifestyle and diet you do not notice any improvement or you have signs of deterioration, you should consult a specialist.

The doctor will subject you to the necessary diagnostic tests and recommend spasmolytics those that act directly on pain and do not simply mask the symptoms.

Spasmolytics, such as hyosquinamine, have a very good safety profile and offer real and immediate relief. Hyoskinamine, whose principle of action is 15 minutes after ingestion, is the substance most used by sufferers to relieve discomfort and pain in the gastrointestinal tract.

Hyoskinamine, with its targeted action, relaxes the contracting muscles of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, it alleviates the cause of the pain instead of just masking it.

Finally, it is worth emphasizing that unlike spasmolytics, anti-inflammatory and analgesic drugs that are sometimes used to treat pain in the gastrointestinal tract, they should be taken with caution because they can have serious side effects.
