The combination of bronchoscopic ultrasound, both through the bronchial tree and through the esophagus (EBUS & EUS-B), is an excellent, detailed, minimally invasive and uncomplicated method of diagnosing lung and mediastinal lesions. It is now the method of choice for the staging and diagnosis of lung cancer.

We present the first case of EUS-B FNB (transesophageal lung tumor approach using endobronchial ultrasound and biopsy).

The patient is a 76-year-old patient with Chronic Respiratory Lung Disease (III, C) and chronic cough, whose examination revealed a 2.5 cm diameter nodule at the top of the left lung paratracheal and in contact with the esophageal wall. Due to the specificity of the location, EUS-B FNB (using bronchoscopic ultrasound through the esophagus and taking a biopsy) was performed and a diagnosis of small cell lung cancer was made.

Since 2015, the "Agios Loukas" Clinic in collaboration with the interventional lung specialist Anastasios Tsiotsios and his team (ENDOS) has been pioneering minimally invasive methods of diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer with excellent results.
