Agathi Lykoyannis-Vergoulidou studied from 2006 at the Department of Medicine of Alexandroupolis, Democritus University of Thrace, where she graduated in 2012. Her training as a General Surgeon started in May 2013 at the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Klinikum Neubrandenburg in Germany. The Department of Surgery of this tertiary hospital consists of four clinics: General/Abdominal Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery as well as ICU Surgery. It is also a specialised centre for oncological surgery of colorectal, pancreatic and gastric cancer. As part of her training she worked in the Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Department and Trauma Department of the same hospital.
Since obtaining her specialist qualification in General Surgery, she has worked as a B Attending, Head of the Wax Department and as a member of the Colorectal Cancer team.
Her main areas of interest are hernias, open and laparoscopic (TEP, eTEP for postoperative hernias, IPOM), laparoscopic surgery, and colorectal cancer (open and laparoscopic).
He holds diplomas in upper and lower abdomen, chest and thyroid gland ultrasound.
Upon her return to Greece, she settled in Serres, where she operates her private practice.
The doctor is married to the pediatric surgeon George Vergoulidis and they have two children.
