Dr. Loukas Bourcinos, MD, PhD is a physician with a specialty in Adult and Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery.
He is a partner of the Orthopaedic Department of the Agios Loukas Clinic since 2009, former scientific head of the Orthopaedic Department of the Biomedical Group of Thessaloniki and a contracted physician of the H.O.P.Y.Y.Y.
He specializes in reconstructive surgery of the knee, hip and shoulder, arthroplasty, sports injuries - arthroscopic surgery, orthopaedic traumatology and paediatric orthopaedics.
He was born in Thessaloniki in 1974.
He graduated from the 1st General High School of Kalamaria in 1991 and studied Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he graduated in 1998 with the degree "Very Good".
He then continued his postgraduate studies for 6 years, in parallel with his work, at the Orthopaedic Clinic of the University of Thessaly, under the direction of Professor K. Malizos, and was awarded a Doctorate in Medicine in 2007 with a grade of "Excellent". His thesis won two first national awards.
He completed his residency in Orthopaedics at the General Hospital of Thessaloniki Hippocrates in 2009, under the direction of Rev. He was appointed as the Director of Orthopaedics at the University of Thessaloniki in Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr. H. Demetriou, Head of the Department of General Surgery at the University of Thessaloniki.
Afterwards, he specialized intensively in Arthroscopic Shoulder and Knee Surgery in Italy as a Clinical Fellow under the internationally recognized shoulder arthroscopy surgeon Dr. Gianezio Paribelli, under the auspices of the Italian Society of Arthroscopy (president Dr. R. Minola).
He is married to veterinarian Theitis Zacharakis and has two children, Thanasis and Rhea.
He has participated in more than 60 publications and papers in international and Greek scientific journals and conferences and has attended more than 120 international and Greek conferences and seminars.
It is his interest in People and Health that guides his choices, so that each time he arrives at those treatment regimens that offer the greatest possible benefit to the patient and the fastest recovery, based on his individual needs.
